Live the language you’re studying at UW-Madison! Living in a language-based residence will allow you to more fully immerse yourself in the language and culture you’re studying, get to know faculty TAs and other students outside of class, and form a strong community with other like-minded students.

The French House
La Maison Française is a private French immersion residence hall operated by the Department of French and Italian. The only residential program with its own chef, the French House also serves as a center for all things Francophone in the greater Madison area.

International Learning Community
Language Houses in the International Learning Community (ILC) in Adams Residence Hall offer the opportunity to practice using your language with native speakers and other students. You’ll eat together with other residents and faculty, take classes in the dorm taught by ILC faculty directors, have access to academic support, and enjoy special activities like films and social events.
