Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) or the German Academic Exchange Service helps fund students from around the world who want to study and intern in Germany.
Their Research in Science and Engineering (RISE) program helps STEM students studying in the US complete a 2-3 months ummer research internship at a German university or research center.
Interns will assist a doctoral student in their research project. A variety of projects are available. Specific internship duties will depend on the area of study and project you are assigned to. Please refer to RISE’s database for specific opportunities and requirements (information to be posted November 1 – December 15).
Projects are in fields including:
- Earth sciences
- And more
Interns will also participate in a 3 day mid-session DAAD RISE reunion in Heidelberg, Germany.
*Note regarding global health: A research project with a public/global health connection could be considered for an independent internship with enrollment in the Worldwide Internship Program online course.
