Virtual Student Federal Service Internships (Multiple languages)

Who we are

Since 2009, more than 10,000 U.S. citizen college students have advanced the work of the federal government through Virtual Student Federal Service internships. The time commitment is about 10 hours per week during the school year. There are opportunities for all, from political analysis to speechwriting. Internships are unpaid but may be eligible for course credit.

What we do

We connect the talents of U.S. citizen college students with the needs of federal agencies. Students apply in July. Selections are made in August. Internships begin in September.

Who can join

U.S. citizen high school graduates enrolled at least half-time in college during their application and participation are eligible. Rising college freshmen through Ph.D. students are welcome to apply. Because the program is virtual, students can intern from anywhere.

Several of the internship opportunities listed are seeking applicants with skills in specific languages; use the “language” filter to search for a language that you speak!
