I really would not be where I am today without my knowledge of the Spanish language.

More than the ability to communicate in Spanish that has benefited my career, I know that my Spanish Language major immeasurably improved my ability to communicate in English.

The study of Spanish empowered me to develop life-long relationships, gave me the opportunity to study abroad, led me to further my graduate study of Spanish literature, and helped me meet my wife.

Learning a new language or learning about your own language will help you discover so much about that culture.

I feel passionate about correcting misconceptions about bilingual education.

Learning Hmong has changed my perspective on the Hmong culture and strengthened my relationship with my community along with my parents.

I think I am more creative and unique because I speak three languages. I appreciate different cultures fully and embrace different art, tastes, sounds and places.

Even if your priority in school is not language learning, one class can make all the difference in some unforeseeable future situation.

There are so many opportunities to get involved with local international communities. Practice with native speakers and don't be shy!

Portuguese has been an integral part of my everyday personal life since I first started studying it.
