Language Tutoring

Whether formal tutoring, informal conversation partners, or small study groups, practicing the language you’re studying with other people is one of the best ways to improve.

If you are interested in receiving additional help or practice with your language, you have a few different options:

  • Visit your instructor during office hours.
  • Form a study group with your classmates.
  • Connect with the Greater University Tutoring Service (GUTS). The GUTS Foreign Language Learners program offers weekly group tutoring in and individual tutor matching.
  • Contact the department offering your language. They may keep a list of individuals available for paid tutoring.

If you feel as though you are struggling in your language class, be sure to speak first with your instructor.  It’s helpful for your instructor to know that you’re having trouble. Your instructor is there to help!
