A vast archipelago made up of thousands of islands—including Sumatra, Java, Bali, Borneo, the Spice Islands, and Papua—Indonesia is the world’s fourth most populous country and is also one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Indonesian is spoken by almost 160 million people worldwide, but most widely spoken in Southeast Asia. Knowledge of Indonesian will grant access to various positions internationally, as well as being one of the easiest languages to learn with no conjugations, tenses, or declensions, and written using the Roman alphabet.
