Latin
Latin was the language of the Roman Empire, is one of the preeminent languages of the Western humanistic and intellectual tradition, and serves as the basis of modern Spanish, French, Italian, Catalan, and Romanian. Learning Latin involves the study of the literature, history, culture, and society of the ancient Mediterranean world. Studying Latin will improve your English vocabulary, spelling, and knowledge of medical and scientific terminology. The study of Latin also correlates with improved scores on such standardized tests as the MCAT, LSAT, GMAT, and GRE.
